At the entrance to the Cornish market town of Penzance stands the award-winning 18th century Longboat Inn. The convenient location of this traditional, family-run inn is perfect for exploring West Cornwall, just moments from the bus and train stations and ideal for links to the Isles of Scilly. Close to Penzance’s atmospheric harbour and promenade, the Longboat is ideally positioned for all that Penzance and the surrounding district has to offer, lovely beaches, delightful gardens, stunning coastal walks and breathtaking Cornish scenery.
Penzance’s climate is one of the most temperate anywhere in the British Isles and its location ensures that Spring comes earlier than anywhere else which is, of course, a major contribution to the beautiful flora and fauna. The sub-tropical Morrab Gardens are well worth a visit, also Penlee House Gallery and Museum which houses local artworks by famous Newlyn School artists. Just along the coast is Marazion, which has an excellent beach and ideal waters for sailing and windsurfing. At low tide, visitors may walk along the causeway to the mystical island of St Michael’s Mount.
The Longboat Inn boasts 17 beautifully decorated and affordable en-suite rooms, complete with LCD Freeview flat-screen TVs, free WiFi and coffee & tea-making facilities. There is Free WiFi available in the Bar, Lounge & Guest Rooms.
You may also enjoy a sustaining home-cooked Cornish breakfast before exploring. You will find homemade, locally sourced, good food and friendly service in the Bar and separate Restaurant. You may also enjoy our courtyard beer garden – weather permitting.
The Longboat offers excellent entertainment all week including quiz and games nights – there’s something for everyone. Sporting events are shown on the big screen and throughout the bar, from Premiership Football to Six-Nations Rugby, Masters Tennis to Ryder Cup Golf.
We offer a left-luggage service for those who may not be staying with us but need some light luggage relief!!
